“The Power of Digital – Transforming Marketing and Branding” is the focus at this year’s ad:tech Singapore and I think I sniffed out a bit of eCRM in the program as well, besides the usual suspects like search engine marketing and optimization, e-marketing, metrics and analytics, rich media, mobile and so on.

What do you think? Let’s go there and find out!

To be held from 3-4 June at Suntec Convention Centre, ad:tech Singapore 2010 will bring together the movers and shakers of the global digital marketing industry to  share insights into the major digital trends in 2010. Bigger and better this year with full support from the Media Development Authority and the Singapore Tourism Board, ad:tech Singapore will present icons, veterans and leading brands from the digital marketing industry.

Three exceptional presenters at the show have captured my attention:

Alex Hunter, Independent Brand Consultant, is giving a keynote speech on “The Future of Brands on the Internet” (Day 1 - June 3, 2010). For me his presentation sounds quite eCRM – focused, isn’t it? Fact is that he will try to answer questions like “what is the future for brands online and how can brands turn customers into evangelists? How can small companies use the power of social media to take on the biggest brands in the world...and win? What does loyalty look like in the future?” Drawing upon his experience overseeing the digital strategy for some of the biggest brands in the world together with case studies from Digg, Qype and other respected brands, Alex will explore these questions and more by looking at how customers, communities, and brands will intersect and how online behaviors will dictate how companies market their brands in the next few years. I am especially quite curious to find out how lessons learned in European and American markets are translated into actionable marketing insights for Southeast Asia, as this session promises to approach this issue as well.

Andrew Pickup, Chief Marketing Officer, APAC of Microsoft will give a speech on “Marketing in the Customer-Participation Era: The Windows 7 Launch Campaign and presents the audience with how over 1 billion users and 8 million beta-testers helped to design, develop and launch Windows 7. In this case-study session you get the chance to learn from him how to listen closely to customers and leverage the power of social media, which was at the heart of the launch here in the Asia-Pacific.

Francesco Lagutaine, Chief Marketing Officer, APAC of CitiGroup is another candidate that will probably talk about CRM at ad:tech Singapore. His presentation “Setting a goal of truly effective digital marketing” raises the question if we are missing the point.

It really seems that Paul Beckley, Vice President, ad:tech Singapore doesn’t promise too much  when saying: “ad:tech’s commitment in bringing the industry together, where global best practices can be shared amongst professionals, has effectively helped create a successful platform to explore the power of digital and how it is transforming the marketing and branding landscape”. “With a rapidly-changing media landscape, the only way that the industry can continue to push frontiers in utilizing digital media is to keep sharing at the industry level”. I will make use of the great opportunity and be there. How about you?
