twitteradsFrom the beginning, Twitter has been underestimated by many companies, focusing on Facebook and refraining from making use of Twitter's potential. Only media companies, editors and journalists took intensive advantage of the short message service from the start. However, this could change quickly now, because an intensification of Twitter usage by companies is to be expected. Some experts even believe that Twitter will become more important than Facebook, considering that Twitter has already made 270 million active users, of which around 80% use the service several times a day via their smartphones.

The Twitter ads are suitable for all companies that want to post ads without necessarily calling in an agency. They are very similar to Facebook Ads - a self-service system - that can gradually and relatively simply be self-applied.

Like all other self-service systems they are:

• Easy to use;
• Need no minimum budget or order volume;
• Have no run-time and are changeable at any time;

• Allow flexible handling;
• Have real-time control;
• Provide individual cost control by specifying maximum budget and maximum prices.

In Southeast Asian countries, Mumbai-based digital advertising platform Komli Media is in charge of Twitter’s advertising products sales, looking to engage advertising agencies through a series of education and training programs about what Twitter ads have to offer. These Twitter ad products – which include promoted tweets, promoted accounts, and promoted trends, are available through the Komli Engage sales team in the Southeast Asia region.

Since the Komli team states that Asia is home to 50% of the world’s social network users, the partnership with Twitter could be very useful for advertisers to engage more effectively with these users.
