Welcome to

Dear Reader,

Cyberattacks are part of everyday life in the digital world, and I am not talking about the conse-
quences we are currently seeing in many action movies that show us quite plainly what it means
to jeopardize mission-critical systems. I am talking about simple psychological tricks everybody
can fall for with huge consequences and enormous implications.

Regarding data and IT security, it is basically about the protection against identity theft and self-
inflicted data loss. Digital carelessness gives hackers the power to control cyberattacks remotely,
especially with so many computers out there infected with malware without users even noticing it.
When united in so-called botnets, they can create huge damage and be virtually devastating like
a typhoon.

Today's fast-paced technology innovations seem to power not only new strategic initiatives but to
open new doors for cybercriminals at the same time. The big question, how to protect personal
data, intellectual property or financial assets, remains more than ever an issue and online security
threats still sadden our daily business routine incisively.
Therefore, let's try to break the cycle of digital carelessness and indifference by working together
and following some best practices and guidelines - with integrity - for the sake of security.

Asian eMarketing is dealing this month with security and privacy issues every marketer should be
aware of, since both aren’t a superfluous luxury but an absolute necessity to take the right
measures today.

Enjoy the reading and get more tips on how to stay protected and safe in today's digital world
