Acision, the global leader in mobile messaging, announced the appointment of Michael Frausing to the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager for its Asia Pacific region. Based in Singapore, Frausing will be responsible for managing Acision’s local business operations and will play a pivotal role in cultivating customer and employee relationships, strengthening the company’s regional presence and bolstering the business.
As an industry expert who has worked in telecommunications for 25 years, Michael brings a wealth of capability and knowledge to Acision, having successfully driven revenue growth and strategic account acquisition with leading wireless and telecommunications service providers worldwide.
Prior to joining Acision, Michael was the head of global sales at GE, where he focused on energy storage for the telecom, grid and UPS segments and helped implement strategies to grow the sales team, as well as penetrate and increase market share.
Michael also worked at LGC Wireless where he grew sales from $12 million to over $100 million in less than a five year period and spent 15 years at Ericsson in various sales leadership positions, primarily selling a broad range of telecommunications solutions to carriers worldwide.
Kreab Gavin Anderson, a leading global strategic communications consultancy, has appointed Jenny Yeo as Managing Partner of its Singapore office.
Jenny joined the firm in 2005 and has worked in both the Singapore and Hong Kong offices. She left the firm briefly between 2007 and 2009 to head up corporate communications and investor relations in a Singapore-listed company, where she was voted as AsiaMoney’s best investor relations officer in China for two years running, before returning as director and head of investor relations in Asia ex Japan for Kreab Gavin Anderson.
Jenny will report to the firm’s Executive Chairman and CEO Peje Emilsson and will take on this leadership role as Singapore’s Managing Partner Terence Foo departs for personal reasons at the end of the year. The official handover from Terence to Jenny will take place on 12 December 2012.
Jenny is a specialist in financial communications, corporate reputation and issues management, having consulted with clients across a broad range of industries on corporate positioning, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, media and stakeholder relations, and investor relations.
PHD Singapore has promoted Marie Gruy to Managing Partner, reporting to Omnicom Media Group Singapore CEO, Sony Wong.
In her new role, Marie will be charged with the leadership of PHD Singapore, spanning operations, strategy, business development and talent management.
Working at PHD Singapore for almost 3 years as Regional Director, Marie has established strong relationships with some of PHD’s biggest clients and the wider PHD network.
An experienced, insights-led strategist and team lead, Marie has 15 years’ experience in strategic planning and managing agency teams in regional client side, media owner and agency roles across Europe and Asia. Marie’s promotion is effective immediately. ◊
Comverse, the global leader in business enablement through BSS, mobile Internet, value-added and managed services, announced that Jacques-Herve Maupin will join the company as Senior Vice President, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, effective immediately.
Mr. Maupin held a variety of leadership positions serving the telecommunications industry in Asia Pacific for more than a decade, including six years as regional Managing Director at Oburthur Technologies, where APAC sales grew more than tenfold under his direction. Prior to that, he held a series of positions of increasing responsibility over a fourteen year period at Cap Gemini, culminating as Sales Director, Asia Telecom Sector. From 2009 to 2011 he served as Managing Director - Asia Pacific at Hypercom, Inc., and since November 2011, in the same position at Ingenico.
In this new position, Mr. Maupin will be responsible for driving Comverse's business and operational activities in the Asia Pacific region. Dr. Weiming Li will continue in his role as Regional Vice President, focusing on key regional customers.◊
Exset B.V., a Broadcast Technology and Solutions company, appointed Mr. Mahmood Ulhaq as Director Business Development Asia.
Mr. Ulhaq brings with him over 20 years of experience in broadcast, information and strategic planning space. He has held prestigious positions at various senior levels at MJF Media, Univision Networks, AMZ Technologies, MicroTech Networks and Vanik Telecommunications. He has also been on the board of a few of reputed South Asian operators in the Media space.

Miss Connie Chan, Managing Director of MEC officially took over the Presidency of 4As (Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Singapore) on October 1st 2012, becoming the first woman President in the history of the 64 year-old association.
Miss Chan has been a founding member of MEC Global Solutions, Asia’s first and still largest and most successful specialist company that provides international planning and management services for multi-market clients. With 18 years of local and international media advertising experience her career profile is quite unique.
Under the watch of her predecessor, Mr. Theodore Choo, the 4As began making the shift from just being a trade association of traditional ad agencies to an organisation that serves as a hub for the advertising industry, working towards having a broader representation of industry players with its “inclusive” approach” of providing three membership categories (full, affiliate and individual).

Karin Bjernbäck D'Hondt has been appointed as new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the leading connected service enabler and M2M pioneer Telenor Connexion.
Ms. Bjernbäck D'Hondt joined Telenor Connexion in 2009 and has 10 years of experience in Finance and Business development within the Telecom industry. Previous experiences include management positions in companies such as Sting Networks (now part of Bahnhof). Prior to taking on the position as CFO she held the position Head of Business Control.
Bjernbäck D'Hondt holds Master degrees in Business Administration and Economics as well as in Computer and System Sciences.
As CFO, she will be responsible for managing the finance processes for Telenor Connexion, including budgeting, accounting, cash management, and financial planning and analysis. She will be part of Telenor Connexion’s executive management team and report to Simonsen.
Komli Media has signed an exclusive partnership agreement with Twitter for Southeast Asia that will help to expand the availability of Twitter’s Promoted Products suite of advertising products to marketers in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.
